Writing has been a pleasure, an escape and a calling for me since childhood. My favorite authors were mostly old-school science fiction: Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Larry Niven and Douglas Adams. I didn’t like everything I read by any of them, and found some of their work to be dreadfully boring.
Since then, I’ve enjoyed fiction by
- James SA Corey (Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck)
- Orson Scott Card (politics aside)
- Andy Weir
- Hugh Howey
- Micaiah Johnson
- Neil Gaiman
And the non-fiction work of:
- Mary Roach
- Bill Bryson
- Brian Greene
Del is my pen name (middle name) for fiction work; As Bert Herring, I’ve written a couple of non-fiction books that helped make intermittent fasting a thing. I’m interested in writing novels, short stories and screenplays. I’ve written and made seven short films, which you can see here.
